Our Purpose
Learn from the rangers and conservation experts about the threats facing Australia’s magnificent indigenous wildlife, and the measures being taken to protect it.
Spend time volunteering in the region’s leading David Fleay's Wildlife Park, taking part in hands-on projects with iconic animals such as the koala and the kangaroo including gathering food and feeding the animals.
Venture to the Great Barrier Reef for a full day of exploring the world's largest reef system with Master Reef Guide.
What to expect:
Volunteer days 3-6 at Volunteer at David Fleay Wildlife Park located in Burleigh Heads in Queensland. Four 1/2 days.
Activities may include:
Helping care for the wildlife at the center
Preparing the food
Feeding the animals
Cleaning their enclosures
Planting around the grounds
Being of any assistance to the rangers and staff
IMPORTANT: The program can include some high-intensity work with uneven terrain, walking, lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods of time while you join the rangers in some of their daily tasks. If you have any physical limitations, please contact your Travel Coordinator.
