Accommodations:
Accommodations are comfortable, locally owned boutique hotels throughout the journey. One night is spent aboard an overnight cruise in Ha Long Bay. Travelers who are prone to motion sickness may wish to bring medication, as the boat will be on the water overnight.
Transportation:
The trip includes domestic flights and overland drives between destinations. Travel days are well-paced and designed to balance exploration with downtime.
Physical Activity:
This journey involves moderate physical activity, including walking tours through towns and markets, light hiking in national parks, and optional cycling.
Bike Ride
On Day 9 of our itinerary you will have the opportunity to go for a cycling tour through rice paddies and some villages. The cycling distance is approximately 8–10km. The tour takes place on village routes, which typically have less traffic and are more scenic, allowing our travelers to fully enjoy the surroundings. The roads are mostly paved and very flat. The bikes are equipped with hand brakes. For those who don’t cycle we can arrange a vehicle to meet up with the rest of the group at the end.
Water-Based Activities:
Several experiences take place on the water, including a Ha Long Bay cruise with optional kayaking, as well as sampan and rowboat rides through scenic rivers and caves. These are gentle activities suitable for most travelers, but those prone to motion sickness should come prepared with medication.
Weather & Terrain:
Vietnam’s climate can be warm and humid, and rural areas may have natural, unpaved paths. Travelers should be prepared for varying conditions and wear comfortable, breathable clothing and supportive footwear.
