At Discover Corps, we want our travelers to be fully prepared and choose the trip that will offer the best experience while accommodating all physical abilities. Please read the points below carefully to determine if this trip is the right fit for you.
Adventure Activities: Zip Lining & river tubing
Purposeful Project: We will be conducting beach patrols in search for nesting sea turtles. We follow high tide so this can be between the hours of 7 pm and 2 am. This is important to note, as the timing may affect sleeping patterns. You will be walking about 3 miles per patrol in sand along the beach.
Sea Turtle Seasons: The nesting season starts in mid-July and ends in late September/early October. The hatching season begins in late August-December.
Lodging: The first night will be spent at a hotel. The following four nights, you’ll stay in a four-bedroom beachfront house, just steps from the ocean. It’s a beautiful and serene setting in a shared space with your fellow travelers. The private house has a communal kitchen, shared living spaces, and a pool for everyone to enjoy. The final two nights of your journey will be spent at a lodge.
Weather: The dry season lasts from December to April, while the rainy season runs from May to November. Although September and October are the wettest months, they also see the highest level of sea turtle activity.
