About a week before your trip, you should have received your final itinerary and CISI Medical Insurance via email. Please review the checklist and make sure you have all items in order well in advance:
Passport: Ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months.
Make sure you have your Kenya eTA: All visitors must have an approved Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) before starting their journey.
Yellow Fever Certificate: You should travel with your physical Yellow Fever Vaccine Certificate for entry into Kenya.
Insurance: Print your CISI Medical Insurance card (emailed ~10 days before departure) and keep it with you.
Final Itinerary: Print your final itinerary. It contains your 24-hour emergency contact line for last-minute flight changes.
Money: No need for large amounts of cash. If needed, use ATMs in Nairobi for Kenya Shillings (KES).
Airlines: Verify if your carrier requires extra affidavits and confirm your flight times are accurate. Notify your Travel Coordinator of any changes.
Tech: Pack a Type G (UK-style) power adapter.
Packing List: Bring a reusable water bottle. Check our packing list for clothing suggestions suitable for safari dust and cooler evenings.
Phone: Use an eSIM or contact your provider for international roaming options.
Pre-Departure Call: Schedule a final conversation with your Trip Coordinator once you have your itinerary to talk through last-minute details.
Zanzibar Extension: If you are heading to Zanzibar after Kenya, ensure you have applied for your Tanzania Visa and purchased the Mandatory Inbound Travel Insurance required by the Government of Tanzania.
If you are taking the Zanzibar Extension:
Have a Tanzania Visa. This is mandatory
Get Your Yellow Fever Vaccine & Certificate. You must travel with the certificate for entry into Zanzibar.
