Packing List
Please be sure to pack the following for your Amazon extension:
Passport and color copy
Cash in small denominations for bar services, tips or souvenirs (Visa and MasterCard are accepted at the Lodge)
Personal medication to last for the duration of your trip
Sunhat + Sunblock Sunglasses
Sunblock lotion
Waterproof sandals such as Tevas or keens
Slippers or sandals for walking around the lodge (when walking inside the lodge facilities and in order to prevent bringing mud inside, you must take out your boots or muddy shoes)
Ankle-high hiking boots and/or sneakers
Socks: we recommend tall socks that don’t slip easily inside rubber boots. Two pairs per day are ideal. Light-weight,
Long-sleeved, light-colored cotton shirts
Light-weight quick-dry hiking pants
Light-colored, long cotton pants
Rain poncho
Insect repellent
Binoculars (waterproof) + Backpack Headlamp (or Flashlight) + Extra batteries.

Small daypack
Rubber Boots supplied at the lodge. Available sizes 5 to 12.5 US (the largest size they have is 12.5 US (30.5 cm).
There are NO hairdryers available at the Research Center.
Luggage weight limit: 20 Kg per passenger - It is allowed to carry 1 backpack and 1 hand luggage on the boat. The big luggage will be stored at the office of the tour operator in the city. It is not necessary to carry all the luggage to the lodge and on the way back to the airport the traveler will have their luggage.
Laundry: This service is only available on sunny days. Please ask for the rate at the lodge. Clothes are hand-washed using White Swipe biodegradable soap and are sun-dried in order to protect the environment.
Electricity: The lodge is run mainly through a generator. Communications are powered by solar energy and there is wireless internet available at night. We use LED bulbs in public areas at night. The plugs are as follows:
Weather
The lowland rainforests of Tambopata lie far enough south of the Equator to provide a cooler, drier winter season between May and October. The general weather conditions are warm and humid. In Tambopata, the average daytime high temperature is between 78F and 93F (24C and 31C) The average nighttime low is between 66F and 78 F (20C and 24C).
Cold Fronts - May through September Cold fronts from Argentina can sweep into southwestern Amazonia and push daytime highs down to 50° F (9° C) and the nighttime lows to 43° F (5° C). Thus, during that season always be potentially prepared for cold and drizzle.
Rainy Months - November through April Be prepared for heavy rain that can continue for hours or days. Around 80% of the annual average 3000 mm rainfall occurs during this season.
