We have very specific arrival and departure times for your program. Please carefully read below and call us with any questions.
Fly into and out of Johannesburg O.R. Tambo Int’l Airport (airport code: JNB):
You can arrive anytime before 8:00 AM on the first day (we highly recommend arriving a day prior, please see our recommended hotels below under Early arrival/Late departure). If you miss your scheduled transfer due to flight delays, we will have to book you an additional flight and airport transfer which will incur extra charges payable to Discover Corps.
You can depart on the last day of the trip anytime after 6:00 PM *If you are doing an extension, consult the guidelines below:
There is a domestic flight in South Africa between Hoedspruit- Johannesburg (JNB). This is booked by Discover Corps, there is typically a 1 bag / 20kg (44 lb) weight limit. Any extra luggage may incur fees. Please pack lightly if you can, there's laundry available for a nominal fee.
Cape Town Extension:
Discover Corps will book the one-way, domestic flight from Hoespruit (HDS) to Cape Town (CPT). The additional $100 flight supplement is already included in the price of the extension. This flight generally departs for Cape Town in the afternoon, the exact time is TBD.
Fly out of Cape Town International Airport (CPT) anytime on the last day of the extension. The trip is finished after breakfast on the last day of the extension.
**For the domestic flight on the extension, checked baggage is limited to 44lbs per person, and no single item may weigh more than 70 lbs. Carry-on baggage may not exceed 15 lbs.
Victoria Falls Extension:
Discover Corps books your one way flights back to Johannesburg and then to Victoria Falls the next day. Example itinerary below.
Fly out of Victoria Falls Airport (VFA) anytime on the last day of the extension. The trip ends after breakfast on the last day of the extension.
Summer and holiday seasons are a busy time for travel, and flight delays are pretty common due to the number of travelers and summer storms. We strongly recommend arriving at least 24 hours before your trip starts at any time of year. If you arrive late, Discover Corps has a 24/7 emergency number you can call for assistance. You are responsible for the transfer from the airport to the hotel. Most hotels near the airport have a shuttle service.
If you choose to stay somewhere other than the two hotels below, you will need to arrange to meet the group at one of these two hotels or at the airport on the morning of pickup.

If you plan to arrive before the trip start date or stay extra days, and need help with booking a hotel and airport transportation, our partner Wings Travel can assist you. Please note, you do not need to purchase flights through Wings Travel in order to arrange a hotel and airport transfer service.
*Please note that there will be a 10-12 hour scenic drive on the first day of the trip to our accommodations. We will stop at various scenic points and for lunch along the way.
