Currency:

Mexican Peso -  Please plan to take out Mexican Pesos from the ATM machine upon arrival. Large businesses accept USD and credit/debit card. You will want Mexican pesos for buying from small street vendors/markets. We recommend about $70-100 USD in Mexican pesos/ per person for your trip.

Tipping Guidelines:

While you won't have to worry about tipping throughout the trip at meals, etc., we do encourage tips for our guides and drivers.  Feel free to provide this tip at the end of the trip instead of at the end of each day. 

It is best to tip in US Dollars. We recommend the following tipping guidelines:

• $100 per person for the guide - You can leave the tip with the guide at the end of the trip.

• $45 per person for the camp staff  (this includes the boat captain) for your time on Isla Espiritu Santo - You can leave the tip in the envelopes at the camp in your tent.

• $5 for the whale shark tour/ per person - You can leave the tip at the end of the tour.

Driver: $5 p/person day for the driver if it is not the guide. (The guide typically is the driver)
