Visa / Tourist Card
The Cuban government requires all citizens traveling to Cuba to obtain a Cuban visa prior to their arrival in Cuba. A Cuban visa is also known as a "tourist card.” and is valid for a single entry for 30 days in the country.
You can obtain your visa online through Cuba Travel Services for $85 plus applicable shipping costs. The visa will be shipped via FedEx through Standard Shipping (5-7 business days) or Overnight Shipping:
If you are flying American Airlines, click here to obtain your visa.
If you are flying Any Other Airline, click here to obtain your visa.
Important Notes Before Applying:
Your Record Locator is your confirmation number from the airline.
When booking your visa, you’ll be asked to provide an authorized purpose for travel. *Note: You will be traveling under the ‘Support for the Cuba People’ category. There are 12 authorized travel licenses for US travel to Cuba. When traveling with Discover Corps, we take care of all of the legal requirements for you.
The Cuban visa is a two-part card: Cuban immigration officials will take one half upon arrival in Cuba, and travelers will surrender the other half upon departure. Make sure to keep your visa in a safe place with you throughout your trip so you have it with you when you depart the country.
The visa will come to you empty, you are to fill it out manually, please wait until the night before travelling to fill it out for accuracy.
Are There Other Ways to Get my Visa?
While there is an option to purchase your visa at some kiosks prior to boarding in some commercial airports, we highly recommend going through a visa provider to make the visa process seamless, avoid any delays, and not risk your ability to enter Cuba.
Dropbox Sign Waiver
Once you have signed up for the trip, you will be emailed a waiver/license for travel to Cuba via Dropbox Sign via Discover Corps. This includes Cuba paperwork outlining that you are traveling under the "Support for the Cuban People license."
*Note: Once complete, you will need to print pages 5 - 6 "Titled Certificate to Travel to Cuba" and travel with them, immigration both in Cuba or in the US can request to see this.
D'Viajeros Personal Data Form (QR Code) - *To complete 48-hours prior to departure.*
Filling out this Personal Data Form is mandatory and must be completed within 48 hours prior to departure and will generate a QR Code that's needed for entry to Cuba. Select the following for questions you may be unsure about:
For Travel Reasons, select "Tourism"
For Province where you are going, select "La Habana"
For Municipality where you are going, select "Plaza de la Revolucion"
For Accommodations, select "house or room for rent"
For local address, use: Casa Hanoi, Calle 5ta e/ D y E, Vedado, La Habana, Cuba
On the Customs Information Page, after answering the first two questions at the top of the page and the final question at the bottom, skip to the next page.
Note: Once complete, you will need to print QR code and travel with it.
Valid Passport
If you do not have a passport it is important to apply for one as soon as possible. It often takes four to six weeks to process the paperwork for a passport (and even longer during the peak travel season of March to August). For questions about obtaining or renewing your passport (American citizens) you can click here.
If you have a passport, please note it needs to be valid for up to 6 months after your scheduled departure date.
It is also important that you have at least one completely blank page (with no stamps or visas) in your passport. This is a requirement for entry into many countries. If your passport is nearly full it might be a good idea to apply for additional pages.
If you are a U.S. citizen and need assistance with obtaining a new passport, we recommend working with G3 Visas and Passports to make the process smooth and easy.
*Note: Make several photocopies of your passport. Leave a copy at home with your family and carry a copy with you at all times when you are overseas. If you should lose your passport, having a copy will speed up the process of replacing it.
