Visa Required for Tanzania: A Business visa will be required for your participation in the trip, the cost to get the visa through our recommended Visa provider G3, is around USD $300. This cost is not incuded in the trip fee.
Volunteering: For community service in Tanzania, travelers will teach english to kids of a variety of ages, and restore facilities at local schools. Travelers are encouraged to bring clothes suitable for both teaching in a classroom and also working outside with paint, cement, etc. Female travelers need to wear length skirts or long dresses with elbow length sleeves for teaching in the classroom. Culturally, women are not allowed to wear pants in professional settings like a school. All travelers are encouraged to dress modestly.
The school has about 500 students and around 15 teachers. Each class has approximately 50 to 60 students.
Seasons: There are two rainy seasons—the heaviest rains usually fall from March to May, and a shorter period of rain usually occurs from November to January. The dry season, with cooler temperatures, lasts from May to October.
