The official currency of Greece is the Euro (€ / EUR). We recommend bringing some cash in Euros for small purchases, markets, and tips. You can also withdraw Euros from ATMs in Athens, Santorini, and Crete.
Please contact your bank before traveling and let them know you will be using your debit and credit cards in Greece. If your bank is not informed, they may block access to your cards. ATMs are widely available in Athens and Crete, but some smaller locations on the islands may have limited access. We suggest allocating around €100–200 per traveler for incidental expenses, not including tips.
While most meals and activities are included in your trip, tipping is customary for guides and drivers. We recommend the following ranges, which can be given at the end of the trip rather than each day:
Discover Corps Guide: € X-X per person. Tip at the end of your trip.
Drivers: €X-X per person. Tip at the end of your trip.
