At Discover Corps, we want our travelers to be fully prepared and choose the trip that will offer the best experience while accommodating all physical abilities. Please read the points below carefully to determine if this trip is the right fit for you.
This Costa Rica getaway is designed for travelers who value authentic experiences, nature, and meaningful connection over luxury isolation.
This itinerary is based in the central region of Costa Rica and does not include any coastal or beach destinations. The experience highlights the country’s inland treasures—lush rainforests, rural communities, and rich cultural immersion—rather than the coast. Travelers should note that this trip is landlocked, offering a deeper exploration of Costa Rica’s interior landscapes and community life rather than a beach vacation.
Travel & Transportation
The journey includes a 2-3 hour drive from the airport to Turrialba.
Roads in Costa Rica are windy and mountainous, especially as you move into rural areas.
If you are prone to motion or car sickness, we strongly recommend bringing Dramamine, or ginger chews, and sitting near the front of the vehicle.
The scenery is beautiful — but it is a real road trip.
Weather: Warm, Tropical & Unpredictable
Costa Rica is a tropical country, and rain is part of daily life, even outside of the rainy season.
You may experience brief afternoon showers or light rain, and occasionally longer rain periods.
Activities continue rain or shine — rain rarely stops the experience, and often enhances the lush landscape.
Quick-dry clothing, rain jackets, and a flexible mindset go a long way.
Nature, Bugs & Wildlife
You are traveling in one of the world's largest biodiverse rainforests! This is not a sealed resort.
Insects are present, including mosquitoes, ants, and occasional geckos or bugs.
Even in clean boutique hotels, it is not uncommon for bugs to enter rooms — this is normal in tropical climates.
Insect repellent and a sense of humor are essential 😉
Lodging Expectations
This boutique lodge offers local character, open-air spaces, and close proximity to nature.
Each chalet has its own unique character, with differences in size, layout, view, and amenities. Room assignments are based on availability at the time of booking and overall group logistics. We strive to ensure every guest enjoys a comfortable and memorable stay, and we appreciate your understanding of the natural variation between accommodations.
Seasons: Dry season runs from December to April and rainy season runs May to November. Weather is unpredictable and could rain even outside of the rainy season.
