Packing List

Belize is characterized by its year-round tropical climate. Temperatures typically hover around the mid-80's with tropical humidity. As in most tropical countries, there are dry and rainy seasons in Belize. The dry season typically lasts between December to April and the rainy season last between May to November. During the rainy season, be prepared for sudden tropical rainfall which typically lasts for a short period in the afternoons.


Suggested Packing List:

Must - Haves:

  • One refillable water bottle
  • Passport. Must be valid for up to 6 months after your scheduled departure date from Belize

Clothing:

  • Short-sleeved shirts (we recommend thin, breathable shirts as it is can be hot and humid during the afternoons)
  • A warm sweatshirt / fleece (it can get cool at night)
  • Rain jacket (light weight, water resistant for sudden, unexpected tropical showers especially during the rainy season)
  • Gym / sportswear (for hiking / outdoor activities)
  • Under garments, socks
  • Bathing suits
  • Shorts
  • Several light pairs of long pants (there can be mosquitos along the coast)
  • Hat
  • One pair of flip flops / sandals / water shoes
  • One pair of tennis shoes / closed toe sandals (these are for hiking and may get dirty)

Bath / Personal:

  • Shampoo
  • Beach towel
  • Personal medication
  • Prescription sea sickness pills or patch, if applicable
  • Glasses / contacts / contact solution
  • Personal toiletries
  • Sunscreen
  • Bug spray

Other:

  • Books and/or magazines
  • Watch or small alarm clock
  • Mini-flashlight / headlamp (for the ranger station)
  • Extra batteries (for your flashlight)
  • Light day bag or pack (small backpack would be ideal)
  • Sunglasses, particularly if you’re sensitive to sunlight
  • Personal snacks that you may need or crave (such as granola bars or power bars).
  • Deck of cards

Provided:

  • Linens / blankets
  • Pillow
  • Hand soap
  • Towels
  • Electrical adapters are not needed (plugs are the same as the U.S.)
