Angie Montoya is a certified tourism guide based in the community of Guayabo, Turrialba. She is passionate about sharing the many natural and cultural wonders of Costa Rica—and particularly her home region of Turrialba—with visitors from around the world. Outside of guiding, Angie enjoys music, dancing, and horseback riding, and she has a special fondness for sloths.
Rosa Fernández Coto is a certified tour guide from Guayabo with extensive experience leading cultural, nature, and environmental education tours across Costa Rica. She has worked with families, students, cruise groups, and international travelers, always focusing on creating meaningful and educational travel experiences. Rosa is passionate about sharing Costa Rica’s rich biodiversity, history, and cultural heritage with visitors from around the world.
Magdalena Sanchez was born and raised in the lush valley of Turrialba, Costa Rica, surrounded by biodiversity that shaped her deep love for nature. Originally trained as an English teacher, her path shifted in 2003 when she discovered birding, she led her first birding tour in Costa Rica in 2007 and has since guided travelers across Latin America, Africa, and Asia. In 2018, she became the first woman in Costa Rica to document 800 bird species in the country. Magdalena loves hosting Discover Corps travelers and believes the most meaningful journeys are created through authentic connections with nature, local communities, and shared experiences.
